The care and health improvement team support local authorities and regions to identify, manage and mitigate risk. We support managing risk relating to commissioning and market shaping - the Care Act introduces new duties on local authorities to facilitate a vibrant, diverse and sustainable market for high quality care and support in their area. A local authority's own commissioning and procurement practices should take account of these wider ‘market shaping' duties.
