The LGA Research and Information team produced interactive political control maps of England and Wales displaying the political control of the council or, where there is an elected mayor, the majority party in all councils as a result of the 2 May 2013 local elections.

Majority parties for councils with elections only

This map displays the political control of the council or, where there is an elected mayor, the majority party in all councils where elections were held on 2 May 2013.

Local elections were held in all county councils, for seven unitary authorities and one Welsh unitary authority

A text box can be found by double clicking on the relevant local authority area, which provides further detail on that local authority and a link to their website. To close this text box please press the cross in the top right hand corner.

This map consists of two layers: single tier, and county councils only. The relevant layer can be selected by using the drop-down box under the map. The map can be reset by clicking on ‘Refresh map'.

A summary table provides an overview of the number of councils where result have been declared and a break down of these results by political party.
