This year's Queen's Speech seeks to tidy up a number of areas not previously tackled as well as pushing forward with those which have been trickier to reach agreement on, such as social care.

It must also be noted that three of the key Bills for Local Government (Local Audit and Accountability Bill, Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill and Care Bill) have already been scrutinised by Parliament in ‘draft' form in the last session.

LGA supporting member councils

The LGA will be focusing its lobbying work on those bills which are priorities for member councils.
