Member peers

The LGA Labour Group has five regional member peers, who lead support directly to councils and coordinate support from a wide pool of Labour member peers with expertise in different areas. The Labour Group regional member peers work closely with the Labour Group leadership and office to ensure that support is provided when needed within available resources.

Labour regional member peers:

  • Cllr Sir Steve Houghton – National lead peer (Barnsley)
  • Cllr Clyde Loakes (Waltham Forest)
  • Cllr Bryony Rudkin (Ipswich)
  • Cllr Helen Holland (Bristol)
  • Cllr Eamonn O’Brien (Bury)
  • Cllr Tudor Evans (Plymouth)

Our regional peers have written some short articles about what member peer work involves, which you can read below;
