- The Liberal Democrats are fighting for a longer extension to the Green Homes Grant to ensure that everyone in need of these essential upgrades to their houses can access them
- The Government will be extending the Green Homes Grant until 2022, however there are only 1,196 certified businesses who can perform these upgrades and training to become qualified can take up to four years!
- The Energy White Paper is filled with promises of reviews and new strategies, but a lack of concrete ambition.
- The Liberal Democrats see this as a missed opportunity and a demonstration of the Conservative Government’s lack of ambition. • In power, we would extend the Green Homes Grant for a further 10 years, with a bigger injection of money and an absolute commitment to zero carbon homes.
