Community wellbeing

Changes in demand, demography and the economic downturn all make it tougher for councils to tackle inequalities in health and improve quality of life.

How we support community wellbeing

The LG Group lobbies on your behalf for:

  • sustainable funding for adult social care, now and for the long term
  • clarity about the leadership of and responsibility for adult safeguarding
  • closer working between councils and the NHS, with joined up services for patients and service users
  • continuing the successful drive for personalisation of adults’ social care.

We can help you through:

  • peer reviews and challenges on adult social care, adult safeguarding, later life, learning disability partnership boards and healthy communities
  • the outcomes-based accountability framework – how it can help you improve services.

“The programme gave me an understanding of the current strategic direction of health and social care. It has benefitted my council by really bringing into focus what the current issues are for us.”

Councillor Elaine Atkinson, Poole Borough Council
