Over the next few years Councils will face some of the most difficult financial conditions in a generation. Councillors will be at the heart of these issues, working with officers to make the right choices.
This event, building on last year's, has been designed for councillors who have responsibility for their council's finances, as well as at councillors who want to broaden their knowledge about their council finances.
This event will give councillors a wider understanding of:
- how local government finance is allocated to councils
- roles and responsibilities, including the role of elected members
- current issues in local government finance
- how local government finance should be reformed
It will also provide an opportunity to learn from lead members for resources from other councils. An interactive afternoon session will give delegates the chance to work through some of the likely issues that may arise in the coming months.
