The Local Government Association has launched its new integrated and innovative online offer for councils, helping support, promote and improve local government. The new offer helps councils tackle their challenges and takes advantage of opportunities to deliver better value for money.

Our new website is your first port of call for local government information. It is the place to find up-to-the-minute, relevant and tailored content and make the most of your membership through special briefings and discounted events.

The Knowledge Hub

The Knowledge Hub offers an online professional network that enables you to connect with peers, share knowledge and learning, and work together to improve services and engage with citizens who use those services. Local Government Inform (LG Inform) is a free online service that allows councils to analyse and share data and present their findings. It will help councils compare performance and supports self-regulation.

The esd-toolkit

The esd-tool kit (effective service delivery) is a framework of tried and tested tools, guidance and practical examples to support innovation in public service delivery and deliver 'better for less'. 

Local Government's esd-toolkit is the engine that powers LG Inform with data. It holds both the centrally, bulk-collected data from national sources and locally derived data in a structured, interconnected open form.  It the passes them in real time to the LG Inform application, to populate reports and make them available for external use as open linked data. The service provides a wealth of tools and content at the local level to then assist interpretation and strategy for service improvement.
