Charlie and Marie: a tale of ageing

A video by the Young Foundation

As part of the Young Foundation's Ageing Well Innovation Series it has been working to visualise older people's journeys in life from the age of 60 onwards. In particular it has looked at significant events in the lives of older people, such as retirement, or a stay in hospital, and how they interact with different services at these times.

The aim is to stimulate new and more holistic ways of thinking about older people and their experience of services, amongst local government and partners – who may often operate quite separately from one another.

Through conversations with older people and service providers, the Young Foundation have developed this animation and accompanying narrative of a hypothetical couple Charlie and Marie and their journey from the age of 60 onwards. This video can help strategic thinking to focus on the older person receiving the services.
