Licensing
Whether licensing premises for the sale of alcohol or ensuring public safety at an outdoor concert or sports event, local authorities have had a pivotal role in encouraging cultural and sport events in the local community while protecting citizens from noise, nuisance and danger. The current Government is keen to make the licensing process easier, more transparent and less burdensome to community groups. But have recent proposals gone too far?
