This free event, led by councillors, will focus on the role and responsibilities of local leaders on key policy issues in adult social care and health, as well as providing plenty of opportunities to share current practice and valuable networking opportunities.
The Local Government Association (LGA) is committed to supporting newly-appointed lead members and chairs of scrutiny and it is hosting a free introduction event at the LGA on 25 July on adult social care and health.
The aim of this event is to support new members in what can be a very demanding and publicly accountable set of responsibilities. It will provide an overview of the current key policy issues and challenges, including safeguarding and sector-led improvement.
Both events will focus on the role and responsibilities of local leaders, with lead LGA councillors leading the sessions throughout the day to ensure the unique perspective from members is fully captured and communicated. The events also will provide lots of opportunities for sharing current practice, discussion and networking.
Newly-appointed lead members with a portfolio that includes adult social care and health and newly appointed chairs of scrutiny.
The event is free to attend. To book your place or to request further information, including a programme, please contact email: Kayleigh.Goldspink@local.gov.uk
