The Local Government Association, in partnership with the WMLGA, is delivering a regional event to explain Community budgeting, most particularly at the neighbourhood level, to ward councillors and to explore its implications and benefits to them as community leaders and facilitators.

Why you should attend

The event is free to attend and will include sessions exploring:

  • what Community budgeting is (for example, is it the same or different from Neighbourhood budgeting and Participatory budgeting?)
  • how it works in practice
  • what the role of the ward councillor is and could be
  • finding other sources of funding to support community initiatives
  • you will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other councillors from across the region.
