Corporate Parenting Week: council resource pack

Looking after other people's children is one of the most important things councils do. It is the responsibility of all councillors, not just the lead member for children's services and officers.
However, corporate parenting should not just be about making sure the right boxes are ticked to fulfil a statutory duty. Children and young people in care are some of the most vulnerable people in society and often do not have the benefit of strong support networks others have through family.
Corporate Parenting Week will be running from 25 June to 1 July 2012. It will be a week of local and national activity highlighting the importance of this work and an opportunity to promote local action.
