School funding reform: next steps towards a fairer system

The LGA and ADCS made a joint submission to the Department for Education's consultation on the reform of school funding. Although we agree that the current system has grown too complex, we are disappointed that the proposals do not address inconsistencies in the whole system and we say that the proposals will do little to ensure schools facing similar circumstances in different authorities receive broadly similar levels of funding.
An announcement from the DfE on the way forward is expected soon.
