Workforce - education and young people

We advise the National Employers' Organisation for School Teachers (NEOST), the representative body for children's services authorities and local education authorities on matters related to school teachers' pay and conditions.

We also advise the employers' sides and conduct negotiations with unions in determining national pay and conditions for:

youth and community workers
Soulbury officers
teachers in residential establishments, and
teachers and staff in sixth form colleges.

Sections:

The Soulbury Committee provides voluntary collective bargaining machinery for advisory staff in local education authorities. It covers approximately 10,500 staff including: educational improvement professionals, educational psychologists, and young people's/community service managers.
