People need to look out for common signs of domestic abuse this Christmas with domestic abuse-related crimes representing a higher percentage of all crimes in December than the rest of the year, the Local Government Association and Women’s Aid warn today.

Broxtowe Borough Council: Reinventing Beeston Town Centre
Broxtowe Borough Council has launched a new mixed-use leisure development in Beeston, Nottingham. The development features an Arc Cinema Complex with plans in place for three new food and drink retail outlets and is aimed at bolstering the visitor economy and night-time economy to encourage people to live and work in Beeston. It is hailed as a model for the post COVID-19 revival of the UK’s town centres for playing its part in “community wealth building”.
The LGA Cyber Challenge
From January to March 2022 we will be piloting this new 'challenge' to encourage councils to explore their cyber security culture – sharing fresh perspectives in a safe, friendly and constructive environment. We are seeking expressions of interest from councils, councillors and council officers to take part in the challenge as participating councils or as peers.
