Cllr Martin Tett, Transport spokesman for the Local Government Association, responds to a report by Transport for New Homes on planning new housing developments.

Cllr Simon Blackburn, Chair of the Local Government Association’s Safer and Stronger Communities Board, responds to a report by Crisis and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Ending Homelessness on domestic abuse and homelessness in England.

“With greater planning powers and resources to hold developers to account in the Budget, councils can ensure the right homes are built in the right places with the required infrastructure needed by different groups within local communities."

“Councils want to work with government to reform and strengthen our planning system, ensuring it is locally-led, and that communities are able to shape their local areas, have their say on new developments in their neighbourhoods, and see they are supported by the right infrastructure. "
