Borders College is a further education institution in the Scottish Borders, Scotland. It offers a wide range of courses, from an introductory level through to advanced courses at Higher National level. It also provides a large number of industry-based training courses for businesses throughout Scotland.

Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council has joined up with housing association Bolton At Home and other partners, to deliver a Peer Navigation scheme.

A specialist nursing service for rough sleepers works closely with Bolton Council and local voluntary sector services. It provides support on the streets as well as into hostels and from its town centre base.

Dedicated training for staff in Care Homes, residential and nursing, to promote and embed improved End of Life Care. This case study forms part of our end of life care guide for councils.

In Bolton, fire crews have placed a special focus on trying to keep babies and toddlers safe. The Fire and Rescue Service distributes cots and Moses baskets to vulnerable families to try to reduce the risk of sudden infant death.

From 2021, Bolsover District Council (BDC) have installed External Wall Insulation (EWI) to their social housing. (LAD1b – EWI to 81 properties, and LAD2 - EWI to 54 properties). These installations are future proofed to enable future funding to be accessed for further measures.

A hyper-local project aiming to help hard to reach businesses gain the skills they need to transition to net zero.

The government-backed business support programmes can be of real value to participants. However, the local business community is not always aware of it and gets the most from, the support that is available to them. Bolsover District Council Local businesses were surveyed to better understand the failings of taking up the support available.

Working in partnership, Worcestershire County Council, Warwickshire County Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council collaborated on a heating system replacement programme following a successful bid for £325,000 from National Energy Action’s Warm and Healthy Homes Fund.
