As part of its corporate Enhancing Our Service Offer programme and its approach to assisted digital and supported self-service, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council has piloted a live web chat capability.

The following case studies demonstrate the benefits and value derived from using geographic information in local public service delivery.

This has been inspiring communities and encouraging people to take responsibility for their environment since 2012. Residents and local businesses are responsible for the care and maintenance of the gardens created, resulting in a 43%  reduction in the number of cleansing requests received for fly-tipping, graffiti, fly-posting and dirty streets. 

Inspired by JFK's meeting with a NASA janitor, Swindon Borough Council set out to create a vision that united all its employees and demonstrated the contribution that everyone could make to the council's success.
