Following the relaxation of lockdown restrictions in 2020, there was an increase in antisocial behaviour. The police were seeking criminal behaviour orders against five children.   With summer holidays approaching, the Youth Justice Service (YJS) wanted to put a rapid response in place to prevent further escalation and to address the community’s concerns.

Working in partnership, Worcestershire County Council, Warwickshire County Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council collaborated on a heating system replacement programme following a successful bid for £325,000 from National Energy Action’s Warm and Healthy Homes Fund.

The government-backed business support programmes can be of real value to participants. However, the local business community is not always aware of it and gets the most from, the support that is available to them. Bolsover District Council Local businesses were surveyed to better understand the failings of taking up the support available.

From 2021, Bolsover District Council (BDC) have installed External Wall Insulation (EWI) to their social housing. (LAD1b – EWI to 81 properties, and LAD2 - EWI to 54 properties). These installations are future proofed to enable future funding to be accessed for further measures.

One of the key elements of HC’s response to the pandemic has been looking at how they can support a more balanced economy in the medium and long term—encouraging new businesses into the borough and upskilling residents to move communities into work.

In Bournemouth, a cluster of suicides linked to the railways led to targeted action by public health, council, transport and community partners. The response included a strong focus on communications, helping to change how the local media reports on suicide and mental health.
