Housing Advisers Programme case study 2018/19 cohort Working collaboratively with the council, we designed and executed an options appraisal to support Gloucester City Council to identify and evaluate the optimum delivery strategy.

The project has allowed the regeneration of urban brownfield sites. The Council consistently relied on government funding to facilitate development of challenging urban brownfield sites for the last thirty years. This new joint venture model removed the need for government subsidy.

A report was commissioned by Havering’s Joint Commissioning Unit to understand the current needs and pressures across Children and Adults social care services and estimate the future accommodation needs for looked after children, care leavers, and children and adults with disabilities. This case study is part of the LGA's Housing Advisers Programme.

Broxbourne Borough Council commissioned consultants to develop an outline business case for the establishment of a local authority housing company to deliver new council housing.

Successfully anticipating and meeting housing need is one of the biggest challenges facing local authorities. This project forms one initiative, as part of a broader aim, to meet the ambitious housing requirement across the district, providing a broad range of accommodation for local residents.

The councils comprising the North London Housing Partnership wished to understand each other’s approaches to local housing company structures specifically, and new housing delivery generally.

Broadland District and South Norfolk Councils sought support from the LGA’s Housing Advisor Programme to develop a pioneering, shared service model for the single officer team who have been delivering the Housing and Homelessness service from January 2020.

The project identified a number of potential sites suitable for housing development.

The LGA supported project was aimed at supporting the implementation of the Future of Essex Vision priority to prevent and tackle homelessness across the county.

This case study explores the facilitation of the relocation of tenants affected by Large Panel System building safety concerns at a social housing estate which comprised of a tower block with over 120 homes.
