Council environmental health, trading standards and licensing teams have played a critical role in COVID compliance and enforcement work. During the course of the pandemic, the LGA produced various guidance notes for councils on key COVID compliance issues to supplement or fill gaps in other guidance. As regulations have changed, most of these documents has now been archived, although old documents produced during March 2020-July 2021 can be provided if they would be helpful.
We continue to work with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and the Office for Product Safety and Standards to discuss support for councils on new regulations as they are implemented, and this page will be updated if new materials are made available.
