Who we are and what we do
The LGA is the national membership body for local authorities. We are a politically-led and cross-party organisation, and we work on behalf of our member councils to support, promote and improve local government.
There are four political groups at the LGA – Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Independent – each supported by a group office.
