Early intervention for those in need of additional support

Cheshire West and Chester Council has been developing an integrated approach to early intervention since 2013. This Integrated Early Support model aims to help agencies identify which children, families and vulnerable adults are in need of additional support services, to improve outcomes and reduce demand and expenditure on acute services. This case study forms part of our demand management, Children, young people and families, resource.

This model is being evaluated to measure its impact on outcomes, efficiency and potential savings. Cheshire West and Chester Council is developing a robust evaluation framework to determine whether its Integrated Early Support model is reducing demand on other services, if it is a more efficient process and whether it is improving outcomes in the council.
