The June 2018 edition of the Statistical Alert, which provides a monthly snapshot of core economic and labour market data summarised from the Office for National Statistics, independent labour market organisations and LGA Research and Information, is now available.
The Consumer Price Index including owner occupiers housing costs (CPIH) increased to 2.3 per cent in May 2018 from 2.2 per cent in April 2018. Retail Price Index (RPI) annual inflation decreased to 3.3 per cent in May 2018 from 3.4 per cent in April 2018.
Figures provided by XpertHR, an online resource for employment law HR good practice and benchmarking, showed the median whole economy pay settlement level of 2.5 per cent to the three months ending May 2018, unchanged from 2.5 per cent for the three months April 2018.
Results from the Labour Research Department (LRD) survey provided by XpertHR showed the median level of union-negotiated awards for the whole economy was 3.3 per cent in the three months to May 2018 unchanged from 3.3 per cent for the previous three months to April 2018.
The Engineering Employers Federation mean (EEF, manufacturing) was 2.6 per cent in the three months to May 2018, an increase from 2.4 per cent for the three months April 2018.
