The July 2019 edition of the Statistical Alert, which provides a monthly snapshot of core economic and labour market data summarised from the Office for National Statistics, independent labour market organisations and LGA Research and Information, is now available below.
The Consumer Price Index including owner occupiers housing costs (CPIH) remained at 1.9 per cent in June 2019 unchanged from 1.9 per cent in May 2019. Retail Price Index (RPI) annual inflation decreased to 2.9 per cent in June 2019 from 3.0 per cent in May 2019.
Figures provided by XpertHR, an online resource for employment law HR good practice and benchmarking, showed the median whole economy pay settlement level of 2.5 per cent to the three months ending June 2019, unchanged from 2.5 per cent in May 2019.
Results from the Labour Research Department (LRD) survey provided by XpertHR showed the median level of union-negotiated awards for the whole economy was 2.8 per cent for the three months ending June 2019, unchanged from 2.8 per cent in May 2019.
The Make UK (formerly Engineering Employers Federation) mean for manufacturing remained at 2.6 per cent in the three months ending June 2019, unchanged from 2.6 per cent in May 2019.
