Health and social care

The Level 3 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care is designed to develop knowledge, skills and practices which are needed to be successful in adult social care setting.


Overview

The programme aims to build confidence and skills that are universally recognised across the care sector.

The programme is aimed at those who will be working in the following roles: 

  • care assistant
  • community response assistant
  • day service
  • learning disability roles

Course content

The programme will work through a variety of units for an apprentice to gain the experience and skills needed to succeed, which will include but not be exclusive to:

  • principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
  • the role of the health and social care worker
  • promote person-centred approaches in health and social care
  • promote and implement health and safety in health and social care
  • promote good practice in handling information in health and social care settings
  • promote communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
  • engage in personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
  • promote equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
  • principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings.
