A ‘local first’ public health system

The reform of Public Health England (PHE), the new UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and forthcoming legislation on the statutory basis of integrated care systems (ICSs) means we are facing significant organisational change. The long-standing problem of health inequalities and regional inequality has become ever clearer during 2020/21, and the pandemic’s repercussions will exacerbate for some time.

Adequacy of funding for local authorities during the COVID-19 outbreak, House of Commons, 24 November 2020

Councils support humanitarian efforts to protect and support refugees and have delivered a wide range of support across different government schemes over many years.

Agriculture Bill, Second Reading, House of Commons, 3 February 2020

The Bill does not consider how this rural growth component fits into the proposed land management system, or how it will link to the forthcoming UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
