Solar Energy Workshops over September and October 2024

Aimed at local planners and associated local government professionals, this is a series of six online sessions exploring the planning issues and opportunities around solar developments.

Across September and October, Solar Energy UK in collaboration with the Planning Advisory Service are hosting a series of six workshop sessions for local planners and associated professionals in local councils who are interested in, or responsible for determining, ground mounted solar farm applications.

These short, one hour sessions will be held online and based around Solar Energy UK’s recently published solar factsheets and position statements for local planning authorities. Each session will cover a key issue or topic relevant to local planning authorities and together provide a fuller understanding of how authorities can approach this fast developing sector. The sessions are:

Every session will kick off with a brief presentation, followed by an interactive Q&A with representatives from the solar industry and, where possible, wider stakeholders. We aim to create a collaborative atmosphere and strongly encourage all attendees to join in on the conversations, ask questions, and share their insights.

While our main goal is to support planners to develop their understanding of solar and storage technologies, we also see these sessions as a valuable opportunity for the industry to learn from local planning experience.

If you are interested in attending, please sign up using the Eventbrite links. You will need to sign up for each session individually.
