Viability two-day events

In January 2016 we held an event on viability.

Our viability events aimed to:

Increase delegates' knowledge of viability and its relevance in planning, and what viability evidence is required to fulfil their planning role.
Improve the procurement outcome for authorities.
Make those attending more confident discussing, and negotiating upon, viability related to development and planning.

Pre-course reading

We recommend delegates read the references to viability for both plan making and decision making in the NPPF. There was also reference to the non-statutory guidance on 'Viability Testing Local Plans' produced by the Local Housing and Delivery Group - chaired by Sir John Harman and the RICS viability guidance, for site specific schemes.
