Over 40 Neighbourhood Plans have been through the examination and referendum
process. Here you can read some case studies; these provide valuable lessons for the development and submission of future plans.
The following points have been recently raised at examinations and are discussed in this note:
- The relative timing of the making of a neighbourhood plan and the adoption of a local plan;
- Meeting the requirements of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) regulations;
- The ability of Neighbourhood Plans to allocate sites.
The note also includes two case studies where emerging neighbourhood plans have
had a significant role in appeal decision making.
