This workbook has been designed as a learning aid for councillors. It can be equally used by those who have been recently elected. Or to reflect on aspects of your role even if you have been elected for some time. The workbook is a useful reminder of some of the key skills, approaches and tactics involved in neighbourhood and community engagement. Regardless of whether you are in control, opposition or a No Overall Control council.

Our submission is aimed at improving the lives of our councils’ residents and helping the Government deliver its missions.

We worked with the local government associations across the UK and Strategic Migration Partnerships to conduct an online survey of councils who have experienced impacts from the cessation of support for asylum seekers.

Good sexual health enables healthy relationships, planned pregnancies and prevention of disease. We are calling on the Government to work with local government to commit and deliver, a sustainable, national 10 year sexual and reproductive (SRH) strategy.

Local councils across England provide valued collection services to businesses either directly or indirectly through support and advice. In this report we will review the legislative context and potential for businesses to reduce their environmental impact.

In March 2024, the LGA’s Culture, Tourism and Sport (CTS) Board launched a call for evidence on supporting women and girls to be active. This report summarises the key findings and next steps.
