This report outlines the results of an online survey of local authorities and the suppliers who provided the adviser support, conducted in early 2018 to capture their experiences of the programme at that point in time.

The legislation completed its passage through Parliament on 11 May 2016 and received Royal Assent on 12 May 2016.

In November and December 2018, the Local Government Association (LGA) and the National Housing Federation (NHF) hosted five roadshow events across England, under the theme: ‘Working Together to tackle Homelessness’.

This report, commissioned by the LGA from the Housing Learning and Improvement Network (authors: Ian Copeman and Lois Beech), makes a number of recommendations to government on how we can best meet the needs of people in later life with case studies demonstrating how councils are addressing the housing needs of an ageing population.
