Expert leadership coaching for local government officers
Following the success of the emergency coaching programme throughout 2020/21, the LGA in partnership with Solace, are pleased to be able to continue this programme of national coaching support for Chief Executives and their direct reports. This funded support is aimed at leaders based in English local authorities to help them deal with the complex challenges the most senior roles bring.
In addition we would like to extend the offer to provide career support to middle managers from BAME and under-represented backgrounds from local authorities based in England to help improve the diversity across our senior management structures.

In an increasingly complex and fast-paced environment, you’re expected to appear confident, work across organisational and political boundaries, deliver better services with diminishing resources and find time to stand back and think strategically. But who can you go to for a sounding board?
That’s where we can help. Building on the success of our emergency coaching offer, Solace and the LGA are delighted to continue this programme to provide you with access to a variety of coaches and mentors to help give you practical advice, and share their experiences and learning.
To date, through our funded coaching programmes Solace have supported over 280 individuals over 846 hours across 175 organisations throughout the UK, and an additional 21 organisations via Teams coaching.
