Central government has a number of property tools that can support local authorities.
The One Public Estate programme continues to deliver and expand at a greater scale and pace than previously seen. Partnerships of councils are working across local authority boundaries, City Regions and devolved areas (as well as single authorities) striving to deliver major economic schemes that will transform their (local) areas with new homes and jobs.
As of February 2017, over 250 councils, working in 63 partnerships are part of the One Public Estate programme and are being supported to use their assets more effectively to deliver ambitious programmes of major service transformation and local economic growth. Partnerships have been awarded various amounts of funding to get their projects off the ground.
