The LGA Conservative Group each year makes a number of appointments to LGA Boards.
Under the constitution of the LGA Conservative Group, every Conservative Group can nominate up to three of its members to be considered for appointment. Please download the nomination form which should be completed and returned to us.
Closing date for receipt of these nominations is Monday 8 July and appointments will be made shortly after the closing date, coming into effect from 1 September.
A number of factors are considered when making appointments. We aim to achieve a good representation from all areas of the country and from all types of local authority, as well as relevant experience. We normally receive four or five applications for every position so unfortunately we are not able to offer a place to everyone who is nominated.
A special responsibility allowance is paid to all councillors appointed to serve on LGA bodies to cover costs incurred and all appointed members will be supported by the members of staff in the LGA Conservative Group Office.
We will also be making appointments to our National & Regional Lead Peer positions. Groups may submit names to these positions in addition to the three nominations for LGA Boards. Please download the National & Regional Lead Peer nomination form.
