What first inspired you to apply to NGDP?

I always had a passion to give back to communities or contribute toward to the development of communities within local settings.

When I heard of the opportunities provided by NGDP, I leaped at the opportunity as I knew the programme can provide the level of challenge and exposure I was looking for.

How much did you know about the NGDP before you applied?

I heard of the NGDP while I was trying to figure my career path. Fortunately, I came across the NGDP through an open day at the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

What was the recruitment process like?

The recruitment process was challenging for all of the right reasons. I believe there are three stages with the final being an assessment day. I enjoyed the assessment centre because the day provided me with a glimpse of what working for local government looks like. Despite the degree of challenge, NGDP provides a lot of support and guidance along the way.

What would be your advice to people thinking about applying to NGDP?

Always ensure that you remain as authentic as possible, give it your all and be confident in your own ability and what you can offer to the programme. The NGDP provides such a great introduction to local government and utilising this route can help shape your career.
