Oxfordshire worked with Public Health England and NHS Test and Trace to launch its local contact tracing service in mid October. A team of 14 call handlers drawn from Cherwell District Council and the county council provide contact tracing on behalf of all the districts.

Solihull's public health team launched a backward tracing service in early September. It is currently staffed by six public health staff who contact everybody who tests positive in the borough.

Faced with high rates of infection in the summer, Calderdale developed a local contact tracing service in partnership with and as part of NHS Test and Trace, which went live in the middle of August.

Hertfordshire is home to nearly 1.2 million people. It has had relatively low rates of infection, but like many areas saw cases start to climb quite significantly in the autumn.

Hertfordshire’s whole systems approach to child obesity includes a successful weight management service, an active school travel plan that discourages car drop-offs, and 10 “healthy hubs”.

East Sussex County Council worked over three months, across the council and partners, prototyping a new multidisciplinary outreach operations team. They provided intensive support to residents in temporary accommodation to enable them to live more independently.

Bristol City Council’s whole city approach to childhood obesity is long-term, cross-council and all-encompassing. Ambitious targets include a halt in the rise of childhood obesity by 2026.

A programme supporting minority ethnic women during and after pregnancy is just one of Coventry City Council’s early interventions which are having a positive impact on healthy choices. 

A decision to sign up to the Healthy Weight Declaration has acted as a catalyst for action on obesity for Devon County Council and other partners and businesses across the county.
