This case study explores how Portsmouth City Council were able to deliver the demolition of Horatia House and Leamington House, which were two 18-storey blocks constructed using Large Panel Systems.

With external funding to support counter-extremism delivery decreasing, Portsmouth worked with international partners to devise and deliver work with young people to protect them from online harms and improve critical thinking skills in partnership with local and national third sector providers.

Councillor Gingell, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Services, raised the issue of FGM at a full council meeting in December 2013. A Full Council Motion (Appendix A) was introduced to condemn the practice, which was unanimously supported.

Greenwich has been working on this issue since 2012 and has used football as a medium to reach out to the local community. The project resulted in participants playing a friendly match against soldiers from Woolwich barracks where Lee Rigby was based when he was murdered. The council has also developed an interactive DVD for school children which is being rolled out nationally.

This case study explores how Rugby Borough Council were able to deliver the demolition and re-development of five 11-story tower blocks that were all constructed using Large Panel Systems (LPS).
