Since the outbreak of COVID-19, councils have remained at the forefront of the response to the pandemic, while continuing to deliver key services that protect communities and individuals.

The sector support offer provides councils with dedicated tools and support to respond to COVID-19, meet statutory duties, and to uphold further responsibilities as leaders of place – spanning areas including building safety, housing and homelessness, community cohesion, the growing cost of living and narrowing inequalities.

Alongside these options, the LGA’s climate change programme supports councils to respond more effectively to climate change, providing resources and tools that councils can use to achieve reductions in their greenhouse gas emissions and to transition toward a green recovery.

Further information about these elements of the sector support programme can be accessed on the pages below and and the tabs on the right.
