This is the updated version of our Local Government Data Maturity Model. The model sets out a description of the behaviours and practices in relation to data that we would expect to see in local authorities at each level of data maturity.
The Local Government Earnings and Demography Survey provides paybill and average pay rate information for all local government employees (excluding teachers) in England and Wales as well as examining the key characteristics of the workforce.
The survey collects details of individual local government posts; the results are based on around 850,000 posts. This not only improves the quality of the data but enables us to produce robust estimates of pay by occupational groups.
