This case study explores the facilitation of the relocation of tenants affected by Large Panel System building safety concerns at a social housing estate which comprised of a tower block with over 120 homes.

South Somerset District Council wanted to find different ways of working which would protect resources for the ‘frontline’ while ensuring South Somerset remained a good place to live and work.

North Somerset Council are developing a roadmap and action plan focusing on measures to support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve energy efficiency and reduce their carbon emissions. As part of the LGA’s Economic Growth Advisers programme, Eunomia Research and Consulting were commissioned to produce a report to assess the carbon emissions by sector as well as the challenges faced by sectors with the highest emissions in achieving net zero. The report makes recommendations on support programmes the council can develop to help SMEs reduce emissions.

West Berkshire’s engagement officer noticed that the pandemic period saw a wider demographic of people responding to council consultations, communications and initiatives than previously, including increased engagement from children and young people. There was a desire to harness and build on this increased engagement, so a range of initiatives were launched to educate residents on the council’s role and responsibilities.

Traditional forms of consultation were not proving effective at reaching the diverse communities of Walworth, an area of Southwark undergoing rapid change.
