On the 17 March 2023 the Government published a technical consultation on the design of the Infrastructure Levy which is being introduced through the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill. The Levy aims to be more effective and transparent than the current system of developer contributions and deliver at least as much affordable housing, if not more.
To help us understand more about the Infrastructure Levy - Technical consultation we hosted an online webinar where we were joined by officials from DLUHC who provided us with a really helpful overview of the consultation. A number of questions on the consultation were raised by delegates attending the session and we have attempted to answer some of them on our frequently asked questions resource page.
