Medway Council
This project in 2016 tested how to speed up the Local Plan-making process by enhancing engagement with two community neighbourhood planning groups. Whilst not up to date and many policies have changed there could still be some useful learning from the case study.
The case study captures and shares the techniques used to engage people during two workshops where the Council brought these groups together with technical experts and developers to consider the following as projects to speed up the local neighbourhood planning process:
a) Investment in technical advice
b) Establishing civic leadership and community support
c) The defining of development options to meet growth.
