Cyber security
For any questions related to the LGA's Cyber programme, please email us at [email protected]
LGA Cyber 360
The LGA is running a new programme, the Cyber 360, to encourage councils to explore their cyber security culture. This is a funded opportunity to gain advice, support, and a fresh perspective, from experts and peers. Councils interested in learning more about cyber risk can apply to take part in the LGA Cyber 360.
Funding available for cyber security qualifications
The LGA has been awarded funding from the National Cyber Security Programme to deliver a cyber security qualifications uplift. We are now inviting all councils to apply for cyber security grant funding for an officer to undertake a professionally certified cyber security qualification. Deadline is 1 April, 5pm.
Data and research
LG Inform report on Ukrainian and Russian Populations
We have added recently published ONS data to LG Inform and created a report on Ukrainian, Russian and other Eastern European populations in your area. We’ve also added an additional approximate calculation of the proportion of your population that is from those countries.
Survey of Homelessness Presentations by Ukrainian Arrivals
This report presents the findings of a LGA survey of councils to obtain a snapshot of the number of new Ukrainian households presenting to homelessness services. Data from this survey has been combined with data from an equivalent survey of London boroughs conducted by London Councils to provide an overall picture of the situation.
Procurement
The LGA has set up a networking group for councils in contracts with Russian-owned suppliers. If you want to join, please email Tina Holland at [email protected]
Regional Strategic Migration Partnerships
Councils can contact their Regional Strategic Migration Partnership (RSMP) for more information on developing approaches to supporting arrivals from Ukraine or other programmes on resettlement and asylum. RSMP contact details can be found on the page 'Council support for refugees, asylum seekers and unaccompanied children' (under question 5).
Support for new arrivals
We have collated information about support for Ukrainian arrivals on a separate page.
Supporting collections and appeals
Many communities are already organising collections and appeals. Councils may also wish to point local people wanting to help to national appeals, including the British Red Cross Ukraine crisis appeal, the Disasters Emergency Committee or Reset.
