100 More Innovations in Power showcases the innovations by Labour councils and the differences that this is making to the communities they represent. Following on from our successful 100 Innovations in Power booklet in 2017, over 90 Labour local authorities are referenced for their work in improving their communities in the face of 9 years of Tory austerity. If you’re looking for examples of best practice in Labour local government or ideas for your manifesto, then this booklet is a must read. You can also visit www.lgalabourinnovations.com for even more innovations of Labour in power.
Over 60 Labour Local Authorities from across England and Wales have contributed their achievements to this publication. Despite swingeing government cuts to their local budgets, Labour councils work hard to provide services and opportunities for their communities. It is a showcase of local government innovation on a national scale.
This guide is for disabled members and those running local parties, organising campaigning and events and thinking about making meetings more accessible. It has been produced in consultation with disabled members and particularly on guidance produced by both Disability Labour (the Labour Party's affiliate group for disabled members) and the Local Government Association.
Using evidence from the work of Labour councils, this report shows that despite cuts and attacks from the Tory-led Government they are working hard to put our values into practice.
