The LGA Labour Group Executive has a total of 19 members. Led by Group Leader Cllr Shaun Davies, the team consists of elected officers, appointed lead members of LGA policy boards and the Leadership Board, the national lead Peer, and a nominated Metro Mayor. Collectively, the Executive Team share responsibility for developing and delivering the political priorities, vision and programme of the LGA Labour Group.
Councillor Shaun Davies is the Leader of Telford and Wrekin Council and Leader of the Local Government Association (LGA) Labour Group. He became Leader of the LGA Labour Group in June 2022, representing the views of more than 6000 Labour councillors and 371 Labour groups in Westminster, giving local government a strong voice in challenging times, alongside a higher profile in policy and campaigns nationally.
He is currently the Senior Vice-Chair of the LGA. He became Leader of Telford and Wrekin Council in May 2016 with a vision to ‘Protect, Care and Invest to create a better borough’. Shaun Davies is a progressive leader with a strong mission to improve services, learn from others and assist in making Labour councils the best they can be.
