PAS held a practical training session on 1st March 2022 that showed Councils how to use the toolkit and gave some case studies from two Councils who are using the toolkit as part of their Development Management improvement plans.

On 1st March 2022 PAS invited Councils to join a training session to understand better how to use the Development Management Challenge Toolkit.
The training started with an introduction to the toolkit explaining how it has been updated from the original 2015 version. Participants were advised on the different ways they can use the toolkit and tips on good practice.
This was followed by two case studies. The first was by South Hams DC / West Devon BC who were one of the pilot authorities to test out the new toolkit and have since used it to help develop their Development Management improvement plan. The second case study was from Uttlesford DC who are currently using the toolkit to help them address specific performance issues.
The final part of the event was used to take the participants through a practical worked example of using the toolkit.
