This short guide aims to help new leaders and elected mayors to consider where to focus and what questions to ask as leaders of good governance and assurance. We hope that it may also be a useful reminder for more established leaders.

Assistive technology has an important role to play in supporting people living with dementia to stay safe and independent in their usual place of residence for as long as possible, and in pre-empting and avoiding crises that lead to escalation and hospital admission.

Many of the changes captured as part of the high impact change model imply the need for wider cultural change or changes in how people work who care for and support people living with dementia.

One of the most important factors cited by stakeholders in shaping the high impact change model is the need to improve communication at each stage of the person’s journey.
