The LGA has created a recruitment toolkit that brings together resources and useful information to support councils recruit and retain roles in skill shortage areas. We have updated the recruitment resource using feedback from councils who attendee talent transformation workshops.

On 15 October 2024 the Prime Minister announced that £68m has been awarded under the Brownfield Land Release Fund 2 (BLRF2) to 54 councils in England, who will be able to use the money to turn surplus land into new homes.

National Care Leavers week provides a vital opportunity to acknowledge the success and achievements of care leavers, whilst also raising awareness of the ongoing challenges our young people face as they transition from care.

In March 2024, Caroline Williams, Director of Adult Social Services (DASS), and Alex Robertson, Managing Partner, Consortium24 LLP, working with system partners, presented their data-driven approach to coordinated proactive and preventative care, to the International Technology Enabled Care Conference in Birmingham. This approach is currently being implemented in Warrington.
