Part 5 of the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) came into effect on 5 February 2026. The DUAA amends UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

Following a meeting of the Soulbury Committee, the Employers Side has responded to the Officers’ Side. The Unions are undertaking further consultation on this.

Recognition is about feeling that professional contribution is seen, respected and valued. It includes being able to see the positive difference one’s work makes to people, families and communities.

Flexibility refers to how work is organised to reflect different life stages and responsibilities to achieve a good work life balance, while maintaining service quality. Formal flexible working involves a change in the contract of employment. Informal or dynamic flexibility is more about developing a culture of two-way flexibility that works for everyone.

Wellbeing is about having sustainable working conditions that protect mental, emotional and physical health. It is a shared organisational responsibility, not an individual coping strategy.

Professional growth includes meaningful learning, development and progression across career stages, not limited to promotion.
